What advice would you give to someone who feels like every time they try to grow closer to God and serve Him more, they face intense spiritual attacks…

Shoutout to this person for asking such a powerful question—one that so many people wrestle with.

Here is the original question, followed by my response:

“What advice would you give to someone who feels like every time they try to grow closer to God and serve Him more, they face intense spiritual attacks—whether in their health, mind, or family? This person is exhausted because it keeps happening over and over. How do they break the cycle?

My two cents: Here’s how I’d encourage someone in that spot:

Ask: What can I control, and what is God’s to control?

-If it’s health, are there small changes that could help? Eating better, moving more?

-If it’s finances, is there a budget? Any expenses to cut? A side job worth considering?

-Do what you can, then trust God with what only He can do.

See challenges as a test to choose Jesus, faith, and patience.

-Almost make a game out of it: “I can’t believe the kids are sick again! Instead of getting discouraged, I’m going to praise even louder in this storm.”

-Even if God didn’t cause it, He allowed it—which means He can bring good from it.

Fight intrusive thoughts with worship and prayer.

-The moment anxiety creeps in, start praying.

-Even better, journal your prayers—pour them out to God.

-It’s hard to worship and worry at the same time—just try it.

Slay dragons all day, then laugh and play with your family.

-Be a warrior who knows how to fight spiritually and have joy.

-Even in the storm, there’s room for laughter, fun, and gratitude.

If you’re feeling weary in the battle, don’t lose heart. Keep pressing forward. You’re not alone!
