Want a more meaningful quiet time with the Lord? Here are a few ideas that have helped me (and might help you too):

- Pick a consistent time and place. Same time, same space = stronger habit. Mornings often work best, but consistency matters more than time of day.

- Start with silence. Just 1–2 minutes of stillness to acknowledge God’s presence. “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

- Read Scripture slowly. Don’t rush. Quality over quantity. Ask: What does this teach me about God? What does this reveal about me? How should I live in light of this?

- Pray honestly and specifically. Try the ACTS model: Adoration (praise God), Confession (be real about your struggles), Thanksgiving (name your blessings), and Supplication (ask for help for yourself and others). Writing it down helps me focus.

- Worship through music. One song can recalibrate your soul.

- Journal what you hear. Write down a short reflection or a key verse. This helps you process and remember what God is teaching you.

- End by surrendering the day. “Lord, this day is Yours. Help me live it with You and for You.”

A couple extra tips: Turn off distractions. Don’t overthink it. A focused 10 minutes is better than a distracted hour. And most importantly, remember this is a relationship, not a ritual.
